'Drifting Leaves Photoimagining' is the website of Colin Killick.
I currently live in Melbourne, Australia.
I was born in Ireland of English parents who emigrated to Australia when I was a child, giving me the unusual privilege of three nationalities. My early working life included school teaching, forklift driving and farm work, until I finally decided to pursue my interest in geology. It is amazing what a bit of focus can do and I achieved a Bachelor of Science with 1st class honours, followed by a Ph.D.
While at university I became active in outdoor sports, such as hiking, caving, cross-country skiing and canyoning. I've hiked in many places including Torres del Paine in Chile; Yosemite in the USA; the Inca Trail in Peru; and the Dusky Track in New Zealand.
Soon after completing my studies I joined the New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service, where I worked in various positions for the next 25 years.
I left that organization to accompany my wife, Wendy, on a three year posting to Moscow from 2011 to 2014, where she was attached to the Australian Embassy. My observations of Moscow and Russia can be found in my blog - click on the tab above.
Wendy has been offered a new posting in Shanghai, China for three years commencing early 2018. A new adventure I am much looking forward to.
My images have been published in 'Living the Photoartistic Life' magazine and I have been a featured artist in 'Artists Down Under'.
